I just finished translating a neat response by a Japanese writer to a similar sort of thing. He described responses like that as "more likely to crack you up than horrify you with their hideousness." I really liked that. Of course, it's also really hideous, isn't it? The "Holocaust, Iraq, and gay-bashings" part -- wow.
